Camera Inspection

A full video run of your drain and sewer lines, watched together on screen, with a recording you keep.

Serving Rockwall, Heath, Rowlett, Garland, and east DFW.

Straight answers on camera inspection.

A camera inspection is how a plumbing decision stops being a guess. We feed a self-leveling camera head through your line from the cleanout, or a carefully pulled toilet when there isn't one, and you watch the footage live with us. Anything that needs attention is located with a transmitter and locator, so depth and distance are numbers, not hunches.

Homeowners call us for three reasons: a line that keeps clogging and nobody has explained why, a home purchase where the inspector flagged the drains, and a remodel that's about to cover up pipes for good. In all three you get the same deliverable: a complete video of the line, our findings in plain English, and a written recommendation with prices, whether that recommendation is to repair a section or that your line is healthy and you don't need us.

Signs you need this

  • You're buying a home and want the drains checked
  • Backups keep coming back after clear-outs
  • Mature trees near the sewer line
  • You're planning a remodel or an addition
  • Unexplained wet spots or odors in the yard

How CLEAR handles it

1

We show you the problem

You watch the screen with us as the camera travels the line. If there's a root ball or a break, you see it live, not in a summary afterward.

2

You get the upfront price

The inspection is priced upfront before we start. If we find a problem, the repair options and prices are written down before anything else happens.

3

Clean work

We access through your cleanout when there is one, or pull a toilet carefully with drop cloths down, and reset it on a fresh seal.

4

We walk you through it

You get the video and our findings in writing, with distance markers. Years from now, that footage is the baseline that proves what changed.

Not sure which side of the table you're on?

We'll inspect your camera inspection, lay out both options in writing, and you pick. No pressure, either way.

Winterization

Freeze season is when pipes burst. Winterization is how you skip it.

When water freezes inside a pipe, it expands, and the pressure between two ice plugs splits the pipe, often inside a wall, under a sink, or in the attic, where a burst runs until someone finds the shutoff. A single burst pipe can do thousands of dollars in water damage in an afternoon. The fix is cheap and routine: insulate the exposed lines, protect the hose bibs, and disconnect every garden hose so the faucet can fully drain.

That is exactly why winterization is included in the CLEAR Care Plan. Members get it before the first freeze every year, right alongside the annual whole-home inspection and water heater flush, at no extra cost. Non-members can book it as a one-time visit.

What your winterization visit covers

  • Insulating exposed pipes in the attic, garage, and along exterior walls
  • Protecting every outdoor hose bib with insulated covers
  • Disconnecting hoses and confirming each faucet drains properly
  • Checking vulnerable runs in older homes and new builds alike
  • Walking you through your main shutoff, so a surprise never turns into a mess

Questions about camera inspection

Do I get a copy of the footage?+

Yes. The recording and our written findings are yours, with distance markers on every problem so any plumber can find it without re-diagnosing.

How long does an inspection take?+

Most residential runs take 30 to 60 minutes. It takes longer when we locate and mark problems underground or access through a pulled toilet.

Can you find where a problem is under the yard?+

Yes. The camera head carries a transmitter, and a locator shows us the depth and distance from the cleanout so a repair can be priced without guesswork.

Should I get one before buying a house?+

We think so, especially in neighborhoods with mature trees or homes on clay or cast-iron lines. It's a small cost against a repair that can run into the thousands.

What if the camera finds nothing wrong?+

Then that's the answer, and you'll have the footage to prove it. Some of our best inspection calls end with 'your line is fine, and here's why it clogged.'

Common plumbing questions

How long should a water heater last?

Most tank heaters serve 8 to 12 years in North Texas. Annual flushes stretch that; sediment and hard water cut it short. If yours is past 10, we'll tell you whether repair still makes sense.

Why is my water pressure low?

Usually a failing pressure regulator, a partially closed valve, or mineral buildup in older lines. We find the cause on the first visit and give you the price before touching anything.

Where is my main water shutoff?

Typically on the line entering your home near the water heater or along a front exterior wall. Every adult in the house should know it. We'll point it out on any service visit, free.

Is a running toilet really costing me money?

Yes. A flapper that doesn't seal can quietly waste hundreds of gallons a day. It's a quick, inexpensive repair that usually pays for itself in the first month's water bill.

What actually counts as a plumbing emergency?

Water you can't shut off, sewage backing up into the home, or a suspected gas leak. Those, call immediately. Everything else can usually wait for a scheduled visit with an upfront price.

Does hard water damage plumbing?

Over years, yes. Scale narrows pipes, wears out valves, and shortens heater life. A whole-home approach or regular flushes manages it; we'll show you what your levels look like.
