What to Expect

Thank you for choosing CLEAR Plumbing & Drain. We want every visit to be simple, clean, and stress-free. Here's what you can count on from us, and a few things that are good to know before we arrive.

Before we arrive

  • You'll get a 2-hour arrival window and a text when your plumber is on the way.
  • An adult (18+) needs to be home for the visit.
  • Please clear a path to the work area and secure any pets.

When we're in your home

  • Your plumber wears shoe covers and uses drop cloths. We leave the work area as clean as we found it.
  • Our service call is $99. CLEAR Care members never pay a service call fee.
  • You'll always get an upfront price before any work starts. Nothing is done without your approval.
  • Water may be shut off during the repair. Your plumber will let you know how long.
  • Every visit includes the CLEAR Standard: a quick check of the plumbing around the work area, with a photo report sent to you the same day.

Good to know

  • Older shut-off valves and fittings can fail when they're turned or touched. If that happens, we'll show you and give you the price to replace it before going further.
  • If we need to open a wall or ceiling to reach a pipe, we cut the smallest opening possible. Drywall patching and painting are not included.
  • Drain clearing removes the blockage. It does not repair broken, sagging, or root-damaged pipes. If a drain keeps clogging, we recommend a camera inspection to find out why.
  • If we find existing code issues on the system we're working on, we're required to correct them. We'll always explain why and price it before we start.
  • Payment is due when the work is complete. Financing is available on larger jobs.

Same-day water heater replacement

$2,095

Installed. Haul-away included.

  • Our $2,095 same-day special covers a standard 40 or 50 gallon gas or electric Bradford White in a garage, installed, with your old unit hauled away.
  • Attic, closet, and tankless installs are priced separately after we see the space.
  • Some homes need code-required parts to complete the install, such as an expansion tank, drain pan, or venting updates. If yours does, you'll see it on your price before we start.
  • Most replacements take 2 to 4 hours.
  • Gas water heaters have hot water in about 30 to 45 minutes. Electric units take 1 to 2 hours.
  • Air and a little sediment may sputter from your faucets at first. That's normal. Run each hot faucet for a minute and it clears.
  • A new gas water heater may give off a slight smell the first time it heats up. That's normal and goes away quickly.
  • Your plumber will walk you through your new unit and your warranty before he leaves.
