Gas Line Repair & Installation
Leaks traced and tested, new lines run to code, and every repair proven with a pressure test you watch.
Serving Rockwall, Heath, Rowlett, Garland, and east DFW.
Straight answers on gas lines.
First, the important part: if you smell gas right now, don't wait for a plumber. Leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility's 24-hour emergency line first. They make it safe. Then we repair the line and prove the repair.
Gas work is a trust job. Every line we touch gets pressure-tested with a gauge you can read yourself, and every new run, whether it feeds a range, a tankless water heater, a fire pit, or a standby generator, is sized correctly so the appliance at the end actually gets the fuel it was designed for. Undersized runs are the quiet reason new appliances underperform, and it's a mistake we never make.
Signs you need this
- You smell sulfur or rotten eggs near an appliance
- You hear hissing at a meter, valve, or flex line
- You're adding a range, dryer, tankless unit, fire pit, or generator
- An appliance lights weakly, or the flame burns orange
- A contractor or inspector flagged your gas lines
How CLEAR handles it
We show you the problem
We isolate the system and pressure-test it with a gauge, then trace the leak with combustible-gas detection and soap testing. You see the reading and the exact spot we're talking about.
You get the upfront price
The repair or the new run is priced in writing before we touch the pipe, including permits where the city requires them.
Clean work
Leaking sections are replaced, not patched, and new runs are strapped, sleeved, and buried to code with tracer wire where required.
We walk you through it
We re-pressurize and re-test the full system with you watching, relight and check every appliance, and show you where your shutoff is.

We'll inspect your gas lines, lay out both options in writing, and you pick. No pressure, either way.
Winterization
Freeze season is when pipes burst. Winterization is how you skip it.
When water freezes inside a pipe, it expands, and the pressure between two ice plugs splits the pipe, often inside a wall, under a sink, or in the attic, where a burst runs until someone finds the shutoff. A single burst pipe can do thousands of dollars in water damage in an afternoon. The fix is cheap and routine: insulate the exposed lines, protect the hose bibs, and disconnect every garden hose so the faucet can fully drain.
That is exactly why winterization is included in the CLEAR Care Plan. Members get it before the first freeze every year, right alongside the annual whole-home inspection and water heater flush, at no extra cost. Non-members can book it as a one-time visit.
What your winterization visit covers
- Insulating exposed pipes in the attic, garage, and along exterior walls
- Protecting every outdoor hose bib with insulated covers
- Disconnecting hoses and confirming each faucet drains properly
- Checking vulnerable runs in older homes and new builds alike
- Walking you through your main shutoff, so a surprise never turns into a mess

Questions about gas lines
I smell gas in my house. What do I do first?+
Leave, and call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line from outside. Don't flip switches or light anything. Once the utility has made it safe, we repair and re-test the line.
Can you add a line for my new stove or generator?+
Yes. We size the run for the appliance's demand, take the shortest sensible route, and pressure-test the completed line before we light anything.
Do you pressure-test after a repair?+
Every time, with a gauge you can read. A gas repair without a passed pressure test isn't finished, and we don't leave until it passes.
Do you pull permits for gas work?+
When the city or utility requires one, yes, and it's included in the upfront price. Inspections protect you, and we'd rather prove the work than skip it.
What made my gas line leak?+
Usually age: flex lines and fittings corrode, and ground movement works joints loose. We replace the failed section, test the whole system, and show you the rest of the line's condition.
Common plumbing questions
How long should a water heater last?
Most tank heaters serve 8 to 12 years in North Texas. Annual flushes stretch that; sediment and hard water cut it short. If yours is past 10, we'll tell you whether repair still makes sense.
Why is my water pressure low?
Usually a failing pressure regulator, a partially closed valve, or mineral buildup in older lines. We find the cause on the first visit and give you the price before touching anything.
Where is my main water shutoff?
Typically on the line entering your home near the water heater or along a front exterior wall. Every adult in the house should know it. We'll point it out on any service visit, free.
Is a running toilet really costing me money?
Yes. A flapper that doesn't seal can quietly waste hundreds of gallons a day. It's a quick, inexpensive repair that usually pays for itself in the first month's water bill.
What actually counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you can't shut off, sewage backing up into the home, or a suspected gas leak. Those, call immediately. Everything else can usually wait for a scheduled visit with an upfront price.
Does hard water damage plumbing?
Over years, yes. Scale narrows pipes, wears out valves, and shortens heater life. A whole-home approach or regular flushes manages it; we'll show you what your levels look like.
